We bring you the solution for LS-based, extreme-duty engine cooling. The 55 GPM pump is a great solution for high-compression, high-horsepower applications where superchargers, turbos, or nitrous systems are employed. These pumps are the highest flowing electric pumps available and come with a two year warranty.
Included fittings: 1.75 in. inlet fitting and 1.5 in. outlet fitting.

Tools needed
- Scraper or wire brush
- Brake cleaner
- Gasket sealant: Form-a-Gasket Aviation, Form-A-Gasket 2 Non-Hardening, Gaskacinch, or RTV silicone
- Thread sealant: RTV silicone or liquid pipe thread sealant
- 6mm hex socket
Mounting
Remove the stock water pump. Clean and degrease the gasket area, then coat both sides of the gasket with the recommended sealant. Tack the gaskets to the back of the Meziere pump and align them with the bolt holes. Apply a small amount of sealant to the supplied hardware threads to help prevent leaks, then bolt the pump in place.
Torque note: Run all six bolts up snug before tightening to the recommended 15 ft-lb.
Inlet and outlet fittings
The inlet and outlet fittings come installed. They have an o-ring seal. If you remove them, use some grease on the o-ring when reinstalling.
Thermostat and heater lines
The pump has a provision under the upper hose fitting for a thermostat. An early Chevy V8 thermostat is required; Stant number 13006 for 160 degrees F is one example.
The pump also has two -08AN ORB ports that can be used for heater hose connections. Meziere part number WPM58 or WPM34 can be used in most applications that use stock hoses.

Supply and ground wires should be 14 gauge minimum. All switches should be rated at 20 amps or better.
Warranty warning: Not using a protection circuit, such as the supplied fused circuit, will void your warranty.
Startup and running
Fill the cooling system. Replace the fill cap and turn on the pump. Remove the fill cap and top off the coolant level. Recheck the level after one heat cycle.
Do not run the pump dry for more than a few seconds.
Finish care
Your pump comes polished and waxed. Occasional waxing will allow dirt or debris to be wiped right off and can offer some UV protection. Anodized colour can fade from prolonged exposure to sunlight.
